Genesis 🌱

I've wanted a space to think out loud, share my thoughts, and hear from others for a while.

Before diving into anything specific, I want to share a few ideas that shape how I think and approach things. They will help you understand my perspective and expectations.

Eternal Student 📚

A true master is an eternal student. — Master Yi

I try to learn something new every day, and every time I do, I realize how much I still don't know. That's what keeps it fun. Learning keeps me curious, humble, and ready to change my mind.

I'm always looking for feedback and ways to improve. If you've got thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

Context is King 👑

To get a complete explanation, we have to know all the other necessary conditions (aka. The Environment). You need the environment to explain everything. You can't explain anything without the environment; furthermore, there is no such thing as a universal law. Laws are always relevant to a particular environment. — Russell Ackoff

In software, change is constant. Teams shift, tools evolve, and priorities move. I've learned there's no one-size-fits-all answer.

Every idea lives inside a moment: a team, a stack, a set of constraints. My views change as the context changes.

Many ideas can work in different situations, but success depends on when and where they're applied. I'll always try to share context, but I'll miss things. You know your situation better than I ever could.

Take what works, adapt it, and leave the rest. Choose context over consistency.

Understanding 🧠

What I cannot create, I do not understand. — Richard Feynman

I've always been curious about the "why" behind things, not just what works, but why it works that way. I appreciate when people take the time to teach me how to think, not just what to think.

Sometimes context fades. There's just too much of it. When that happens, we lean on trust. Trust is okay. What matters is being honest about it.

Opinions and Doubts 💬

Whenever you teach, teach them to doubt what you teach. — José Ortega y Gasset

Experienced people carry lessons from many situations. Their ideas often come with scars. It's worth trying to understand their reasoning before dismissing it. More often than not, it's better to avoid starting over.

I usually keep my opinions to myself until I've taken the time to question and test them. When I do share them, it's because I believe they hold up under scrutiny. I question my own assumptions as much as anyone else.

I change my mind with enthusiasm when I find better information or a sharper perspective. If someone understands why the fence exists, they should feel free to tear it down.

But first, seeking to understand is appreciated.

Wrapping Up 👋

This is just the beginning, a space to think out loud, stay curious, and learn in public. If something here made you pause, question, or nod along, I'd love to hear from you.

Talk to you later 🐊 alligator.
